With Love (Poetry)

Love filled the room
And passion,
his eyes.
It had been so long,
Since I had seen him
light up like that.

Like the
stars in the night
and diamonds in the sky.

But I had missed my chance
And now,
All I could do
was watch,
with pain in my eyes.

All I could do
was watch,
his brown eyes
go lighter

All I could do
was watch,
his face
get all red
at the mere mention of her.

He was finally happy,
just not with me.

Being a writer

Being a writer is not easy. It is exhausting. It is painful. It deprives you of the connection you have with your loved ones. It is time consuming. It is the worst habit. It is a distraction. It requires you to face rejection like an old friend. It kicks you and pushes you, making you fall. It makes fun of you when you fall. You make fun of you when you fall. But just when you are ready to give up, it picks you up again. And when you feel confident again, its pushes you down again. You get ready to give up again. Again, it picks you up. And it keeps doing that, until it is sure that you are not just flirting with it. It wants to know that you are committed, so that it can take you to great heights. Once it knows that you are committed, it gives you happiness, it makes you feel proud of yourself, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. It connects you to people like, people who appreciate you and love you. It makes you the best. And that is why my friends, being a writer is worth everything.

Knock (Poetry)

I walked past the door,
to the first house we bought,
And I had the urge
to knock,
To see, if you would answer.
To see, if you would let me in.
But I held my hand
mid-air,
Contemplating,
As the thunder roared
and snow hit the ground.
After a while,
I lowered my hand,
and walked away.
Maybe, the winter
had made me cold.

Honey Chicken Steak

Another recipe for the week. And this one takes just 10 minutes to cook and 10 minutes to prepare. This recipe is super easy and looks amazing. It will definitely wow your guests.

What you will need?
Chicken breast fillets        2 pcs
Strawberries, sliced          1 cup
Baby corn, cut                  1/2 cup
Baby Asparagus, cut        1/2 cup
Honey                               1/4 cup
Ketchup                            1/4 cup
Soy Sauce                         2 tablespoons
Hotsauce                           2 tablespoons
Chili Flakes                      1 tablespoon
Salt                                     to taste
Pepper                                to taste

Recipe
1. Slice the chicken in the middle and if it is a thick one, try and make three slices.
2. Season them with salt, pepper and chili flakes.
3. Take a non-stick pan and put in the oil. Once it's hot enough, place the chicken fillets.
4. Let it cook for 5 minutes on each side before adding the sauce.
5. I forgot to mention how to make the sauce. So basically, just add the soy sauce, hot sauce, ketchup, honey and a dash of water in a saucepan. Let it thicken but not too much.
6. Now go back to the chicken steaks and put in the sauce. Cook for another 3 minutes. Let the sauce incorporate.
7. Dish them with sliced strawberries, baby corn and baby asparagus. Serve it hot.
8. Your awesome chicken steak is done!

Chicken Asparagus Rolls

As a writer, I never find time to make complicated, fancy dishes. But when guests come over, they always expect to find a complicated, tasty food on the table while you are trying to overcome your serious writer's block. They never understand!!
But don't worry, this dish is super easy but looks complicated and will wow your guests.

This dish serves four people and takes approximately 30 minutes.

What you will need?
Roll ups:
Chicken Breast                 4 fillets.
Baby Asparagus               one bunch (or more)
Oil                                    2 tablespoons
Salt                                   to taste
Pepper                              to taste

For the sauce:
Soy sauce               3 tablespoons
Ketchup                  2 tablespoons
Hot sauce               4 teaspoons
Honey                    2 tablespoons
Water                     1/4 cup

Recipe
1. Butterfly cut the chicken or in simple terms just slice the chicken vertically, but not all the way through. Cover it with cling film wrapper, take a mullet, a pan or anything heavy enough and pound the chicken. Channel you inner character issues and writer block anger onto the chicken.
2. Season the chicken with salt and paper once it is an inch thick. If you like it a bit spicy, add half a teaspoon of chili flakes. Set it aside.
3. Take a sauce pan and add soy sauce, ketchup, honey, Tabasco sauce, honey and water. Give it a stir. Let it thicken a bit and then add your asparagus. If you are feeling lazy or need  to get done quickly, just use ready made BBQ sauce.
4. Once the sauce is thick and the asparagus is cooked, take it off the stove. Let it cool. Take the asparagus out.
5. Take the chicken fillets, place the asparagus in the middle, and roll the chicken. Hold it in place using toothpicks.

6. Take a non-stick pan, add your oil and let it heat. Place the chicken in the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes on medium high. Turn it over and then add the sauce. Let it cook for another 10 minutes.

7.Dish it with a lettuce and cherry tomatoes or fried potatoes. Your Chicken Asparagus Roll ups are done!
